Male White Death Spider (Eryngium planum (Sea Holly))

Saw a couple of males on the Sea Holly today - though the female is the deadlier of the two at about 12mm long compared to the male's 3-4mm.

Hi Jacque

They are pretty deadly to bees and hover flies etc. but you should be safe enough in your garden when they are around.

I've seen those around here too. I'm relieved they are not deadly to humans. Not good news for our bees though.
