Trilliums and lily of the valley

I would love Trilliums but I dont know what are perfect conditions for them.

The White and Red Trilliums require seven years from seed to blossom, Dawnsaunt. They thrive in hardwood forest and are the floral emblem of the Province of Ontario.
There are other more cultured varieties I'm sure...but this wildflower beauty is a cousin of the Wake Robin... it's petals are thinner and a dark wine red..it's smell is strong and unpleasant (some say skunky) but the lovely white trilliums don't have any scent at all. I have a pic of the WakeRobin in my blog. They emerge from a long underground stem and the leaves are actually brachts..the food factory for the stem and flower. There is a nodding, White trillium which has become quite rare. The province enacted a law to protect them for that reason as well as the fact that the present blossom was seven years in the making! Each spring in late April or early May they emerge from the leaf mulch of the forest floor. They prefer moist soil and cool days with lots of filtered sunshine. We haven't had a lot of rain this spring and the wild flowers and ferns aren't as lush as they could be.
