Thanks everyone! the hosta is a little Blue Boy, tiny and a lovely colour, aegopodium is trying to make it's way in..I just pull it if it gets too aggressive. I know it's not easy to see but in the centre, the little blue flowers and purple leaves are my fave of all time ajuga! It has established it's self really well and is spilling into the grass...and I'm just fine with that. best ground cover I've ever found...aside from Creeping Jenny. The test will be a new bed under the black walnut tree.

Yes I'm with you, I like ajuga, but creeping jenny.....well she's like the 'statue' game, you turn your back for a moment, look back and you have a garden smothered in yellow tangles. But I like her...where I want her!
Nice avatar, is it your amaryllis?

Hi M! Thanks... it's the blossom on my epiphyllum. I'm still having probs with the camera/computer talking to each other... have pics on here but they don't show up on my browser. Still working on accessing everything.
Like the violets in my other garden, I've let Jenny have the run of things but I'm soon going to put my foot down!

went out to the holding bed and cut a 3ft. square piece of jenny to transplant under the walnut tree... we'll see.... also noticed in the HB that the tiny piece of iris root (last year) that I planted has become a very healthy, very large plant! ...can't wait til it blooms so I know which one it is!

Trouble with my holding bed is I always mean to label anything going in but very seldom do, always convinced I will remember this one, as a result I have no idea what half those plants are, I'll find out when I plant them out, keeping fingers crossed.

I'm glad I'm not the only one Resi ?

LOL... I sometimes put the label right in the bed with the plants but they always disappear. Some mouse or chipmunk is probably using them for wallpaper!

Was looking at a site on Fb today ( a homesteading site) and they were talking to herbalists who specialize in wild food sources. Guess you just have to know your weeds! I cultivated part of the herb bed beside the veggie plot and realized I'd just disturbed some garlic chives that I put there last fall... they were just starting while my other chives are well up and almost in blossom!
