Sisyrinchium (Sisyrinchium palmifolium)

A yellow flowered Sisyrinchium, much taller than blue eyed grass. Flowers are closed in the morning and open after midday. From Simbad seed, Thank you, delightful plant.

Lovely...I was considering some of these for the front of one of my grass borders but, maybe not if they grow quite tall. I had the blue ones last year but they seem to have disappeared apart from two tiny peices trying to get going.

Paul, just measured it - 70 cm to top most flower. It is a cracker.

Yes, it looks lovely but, a little too tall for the front of my border.

For the front, yes too tall, but there are other small Sisyrinchium in pale blue, dark blue, pale and darker yellow. I wonder if there is a white. Think I will google that now.

Yes, I had the blue ones last year.....they go very well with ornamental grasses, but they died back and only two tiny peices have appeared but not sure they are going to get going before the end f the summer...they certainly won't flower this year.

The small Sisyrinchium grow like weeds in my garden, but can't keep 'Aunt May' going, she just turns black at the base overwinter and dies.
