My late Gran's rose, type unknown.

This is a rose that my Gran planted a few years ago under a trellis arch. She got it soon after her cat and dog died, it was meant as a type of memorial for them. She was ever the sentimental type just as I am too. 3 years on and my Grandad sold the house and downsized, left lots of plants but I couldn't cope with this being left behind. Asked if I could have it, so Grandad pops up to my house with this straddle of roots and a poorly pruned rose in late November. I was devastated that it may not last the winter after being pulled from it's large planter. After much care through these last months and being repotted, fed and kept sheltered. This wee baby decided to spring back to life.
Daily checks on growth and 3 buds visible at the start of the week and checked again today to find that there are 4 more baby buds.
I'm sure this is a rambling rose rather than a climbing one? It gets peachy coloured blooms and I'm sure they are scented too. I can't quote remember though as I only ever remember admiring it when it was flushed with growth and blooms at the old Cottage.
Maybe someone may be able to identify a possible breed for me once this is flowering? It isn't really important as it is of more sentimental value than there is need to know the exact variety, more out of curiosity if anything. The new leaves are a lovely reddish color when they first emerge. I'm looking at purchasing a rose tower of some sort to train it up.

Hi Steragram, thanks for that info as I am often confused thinking climbers and ramblers were both climbers but with a different habit and bloom. Should have known better with the name "rambling" I'm sure I read something somewhere once that said they were similar so I'm blaming that. That being said I have had a climbing rose before so I should have known this off my own back.
I'll pop a wee post up in questions once it flowers though. Appreciate your comment :)

I'm so glad it has survived for you. I don't think its a rambler so if you remember it growing tall its more likely to be a climber. Time will tell.
By the way if you want things identifying you stand a better chance putting it on Questions rather than Photos as not as many people look regularly at photos. You could try that when the buds open.
