Eggplants Fruit - (Solanum melongena 'Ichiban')

This eggplant shrub was planted in the ground last summer and never gave me any fruit because of being too shaded and too little water from the severe drought. This years it's finally producing fruit since I cut down the monster Ficus craterastoma tree. Eggplant shrubs can live and produce well for 3 or 4 years before I remove them. I've never overwintered one in the Bay Area. I guess it could be done like tomatoes.

They look nice. I dont know about them overwintering in the bay area. Might be pushing it.
