Hi Ck they certainly can move when they want to. This one visits about 8.30 each night, but didn't turn up last night as it was tipping it down with rain.
Hi Paul, yes we get several visit each night. The neighbours around here are very aware how precious the hedgehogs are and all help out with holes in the fences and little homes for them.

That's great. They would have no chance of getting into our back garden .surrounded by fences, walls and other houses.Even I can only get to the garden through the house!
I remember years ago (at a previous house) when the boys were young, I'd finished work late on a Friday evening and was loading the car up ready for an early morning start as we went on holiday the next day. I was very naughty and didn't put shoes on so was running back and forth to the car with cases etc with only socks on my feet and suddenly felt something under my foot.I had trodden on a Hedgehog who, fortunately was ok.....I realised and managed not to put all my weight down!
The boys thought it was hilarious and we still laugh about it!

I love that you've caught it on the move. They are really strange creatures aren't they! This one looks like a pensioner out for its newspaper!
