thanks M! it is so serene. It would be perfect if the deer flies and horse flies would take a hike! always something, aye?

that early morning amble round the garden and seeing yet more plants shriveled into ragged stumps. Peaceful morning walk.....hu, blimming slugs, rising stress levels. On the positive side no horseflies or mossies here!

I seem to remember an old remedy for slugs problems ...wheat bran. ...or you could try diatomaceous earth. You'd have to be careful that you and the pup don't inhale any dust though. other remedies I've researched, it's been a while though: for plants in containers... copper edging on rims of pots... they won't cross the copper...something about the conductivity of their slime and the valence of the copper. you can bloat 'em, or electrocute them or disembowel them... pick your revenge!
could trade-off the mossies and the h&d flies for the lack of slugs... nature extracts her price from everyone. I wish you luck. ;-)

Not just me lori, all english gardens this year seem to be overrun well...crawled! Thank you so much for doing all that research. I suppose bran works as they dont like getting covered in it, needs re-applications after rain though. Copper is v expensive for whole gardens etc. I think I'll stick with beer traps and garlic solutions and get my pond up n running asap with frogs hopefully.

Hah! you have beer to feed the slugs? I guess they'll die happy. ;-)
