clematis virginiana old man's beard 2nd year

I think this is one I have sent to me by a friend last year , small white flowers , I planted it to grow over an old tree root .

...and grow it will, Simbad. I have an area of approx. 40 sq. ft. that is covered with it!... it has tumbled over the ferns and even smothered some wild raspberry canes! I have to make another trellis or obelisk for it. It grows wild in the forest and along our roads... amazing because it's the only clem I have had any success with..and you can see the reason why! It doesn't need my help at all! Amazing stuff!

Oh heck that's mad!!! I'll have to keep my eye on it then.
