sounds like you're experiencing what we've had over the past 3 weeks.. It started out muggy and hot today but by lunch time the wind had risen and clouds rolled in to give us a nice downpour at dinner time. After struggling with the hot dryness it is so lovely to feel the cool moisture. Tomorrow it's supposed to be hot again. Don't mind this kind of weather rhythm. As long as you're getting some moisture with it the heat will make the gardens pop!

Keeping fingers crossed for you and bit more regular rain. Ours is just a three day phenomena apparently, back to the 19 and 20Cs again on thursday.

There's a tiny canyon nearby. Exact same look..until June when the moss goes dry,the creek too.

Geologically Madawaska is pretty ancient...it's the precursors of the Adirondacs and the Laurentians split by a fault line along an ancient tectonic plate. We are experiencing the after effects of an El Nino winter... it's been very hot and very dry with non stop winds. It's a strange phenomenon, those winds... they'd give a yogi a nervous condition.

That looks a lovely cool spot lori. We had 25C here today which came as a total surprise to me as I hadn't been keeping up with the weather forecast. Tomorrow apparently 29C. Think yorkshire will go into meltdown!
