I wondered Dawn because years ago we had a little toy Poodle my brother rescued it and brought it to me I took it to a house to have its coat trimmed , I walked through the gate round the back of the property when a pack of Dobermans raced up to me the owner came round the corner furious with me asking how I got in as the gate was always locked until they expected someone to be let in ,I said it wasn't locked she then explained I don't know how you got away with that these dogs are trained to kill ,once she told me that I started to back off Lol .. she said the only thing she could think of was that I didn't show any fear which I didn't as soon as I saw them I put my hands out and spoke kindly to them ... ...this house was at Marham near the airbase in the news a lot recently where one of the men was attacked , the dogs were possibly being trained for them ...

Blimey Amy, didnt you have a dobermann in the past too. Sounds like you had a lucky escape. We had Arnie our brown dobermann, until 2008, he was gorgeous, really soft and loving. Its hard to believe dogs are trained to kill isnt it. I find little dogs are more likely to be nasty. But then again, my sister went through a gate to drop something off for a work collegue one day, she was attached by a collie, it jumped up, biting her in numerous places, you just never know, do you.

Barney was a Dobermann crossed with a Collie Dawn he was the softest kindest dog ever and very clever everybody loved him , as you say you just don't know with dogs I remember being chased up the road by an Alsatian when I was little I fell grazing my knees I've always been wary of them since then , some dogs are obviously trained to be viscous by their owners aren't they ...

Awww Barney, I remember now. Yes Amy, its usually the owners that make them nasty. My uncle had alsatians and they growled at me, never liked them either. Tough looking dogs get a bad name and its not always the case, I knew someone who had a lap dog, a chiwawa, he was evil, was always ready to bite.

Dawn Tony rescued a J.Russell he had seen it tied up in a cage on a farm all skin & bones they use to keep them as 'Ratters ' he complained to the farmer ,the farmers told him to take it Tony brought it home this was before we had any children it was fine until we had Ian it then became so possessive of me it started to snap at anybody who came near me I didn't dare leave it in the room with baby Ian , we had to find it another home ,I do wonder if its their start in life which effects them ..can you see a recurring theme here we seem to have had all waifs & strays in our life Lol ...

Lol Amy, I'm always there for the waifs too, lol. Oh dear, my Dad had a Jack Russell like that, it would guard his jacket when he took it off, lol, if anyone went near it, oh dear. You cannot take risks when a baby's involved, can you.
