Daylilies are lovely at this time of year, so abundant.

I bought this one recently. It's a good colour. I'm hoping that unlike most of my other day lilies, it will flower!

I have a huge clump of this one - time to divide. One of my favorites.

Yes Kathy, so exciting, they are really getting going now.

I went out to look at my A. lilioasphodelus today and every single flower had been eaten off the top of the scapes. I dug it out. Am sick of them not performing for me...even when they do...like this lovely one...they get destroyed. Down to two now. Golden Chimes, which has never flowered yet, and my new 'Bonanza'. Kathy, you must have the patience of a saint!

Oh dear Karen, that is a shame. When we had lots of rain over the last few weeks, the buds on mine werent opening but the sunshine has done them good. Kathy is the person who know all about how to grow them so well. Mine havent really been nibbled which is unusual as the snails and slugs have a field day on other plants.

I've had it now Dawn. When I saw those flowers all eaten today I could have cried. :(

Oh dear K......I know just how you feel......all our earlier daylilies had the dreaded gall midge.....this happened two years ago, and I vowed if it happened again they would have to go!! so they will all be replaced with lates we have a breeder in the New Forest(not far from us) who would know the varieties that were safe to grow in our area......so sad I had some lovely ones......

Oh no Karen that's. shame , the only pest we get is the gall midge but only for 2-3 weeks early season but their time has past now thank goodness, wonder what ate your buds strange.
Aaaah would that be Pollie Dd?, going to say lucky you living so near but it would be to tempting for me lol.

Im glad the gall midge only appears early on, that's a relief. Once the rain had stopped it was a switch, boom, lots of lovely flowers.
Im so pleased with them Kathy, I can see why now you love them so much.
