Hi Siris
this spot gets the last of the sunshine and looks like I have switched a light in on them
I had grown this before just totally the wrong spot but find the right spot and hey presto

1st and 2nd year keep protected from the winter frost I used a thick bark mulch done the trick even if the top growth is killed off ... remove in the late spring as you probably know the slugs love it as well.
I think they are best planted in the spring to get them off to a good start and tidy up the leaves then as well.

Ah...ok, thanks. I shall try to remember to mulch my lemon popsicle. I have been using upturned hanging baskets full of straw and it seems to work well. Its a good use for them as well, rather than storing them in the garage all winter! Also easy to remove in the spring, and pop the straw in the compost bin.
