all at once Amy I just bit the bullet , its always the last tree in the garden to get leaves on and I must admit I thought oh what have I done but then the new shoots appeared.

I love trees but you plant them and then they grow and grow and that reduces the sunlight in the garden.

Thanks for that Gg ,I did think wonder as I saw a tree which had been Copiced in a garden in Warwick last week it looked as if it had been cut straight across with all new branches extending from it ... I shall feel happy doing it now ! Thanks Sandra its worth having but does get big x

Morning ,I'm guessing Gg we've lived here 22 years , it was new soon after moving here ... You wouldn't believe the massive pile of tree & shrub stuff we've taken down this morning I shan't touch the Catalpa until after its finished flowering ,we have a Bonn-fire as big as a house we'll have to burn it off in several batches in next doors field ....

Our daughter has a lovely yellow leafed one, unfortunately we lost ours, there is one in St Palais Sur Mer one of the largest I have ever seen we all used to sit under it at lunch time.....huge beans too!

I saw one in a garden in Renfrew (Ontario) today. The pods were long and it drew my eye..looked like it had totally finished blooming. You have such a wonderful variety of everything!

I haven't seen the yellow leafed one Angela ,they do seem to grow a lot of these in France they make fabulous shady areas , Ours doesn't ever reach the long pod / bean stage Lori I guess our season isn't long enough for them to develop .. thank you for your kind comments !
