In his/her magnificent silken web. Considered an engineering marvel, notice the perfect symmetry combining beauty & function. These spiders are timid and would prefer to flee if threatened but can deliver a nasty bite if provoked.

lol some songs never die. It really takes me back. I've seen orb webs with over 4 foot diameter.

As a kid I wanted to be an entomologist. Do you know that the Golden is found in the cool bay area...but get just 15 miles inland where summers are hot and you can find Tarantula's, not surprisingly the big wasp Tarantula hawk and plenty of the exotic Black Widows. Harvester red ants- big ants too. Scorpians...just like the Sonora desert from May-November.
None of them are ever found one set of low coastal hills to the west. Where the bay area starts.

Cute is a 5 year old girl singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider". If I could play a recording of it to the world? Peace would break out.
Golden Spiders are cool Paul. About the largest Orb Spiders in California at least.
