It looks great! I miss my large old one, which was cooked in a horrible heatwave a few years back.

I had to pot it up to larger. It kept falling over. Plumeria look ungainly..ma nature never designed them to live in a pot!

Yes, you're correct. They don't like being in a pot for a long time. There's some really nice ones in my neighborhood. Of course, it's not as common as the Plumeria rubra hybrids.

My large pink or red plumeria, I can never tell it always looks different in the intense heat has become a monster! It spreads 23 ft and is almost 15 ft tall. The circumference of the tree is incredible! It taking over a large percentage of the back yard. It's been in the ground for 11 years now. I purchased it in 2001 and it was around two feet tall.

Today was first bloom for Celadine. Its why I havent collected any more colors of Plumeria...they wait until most of summer is gone here to bloom. I bet in Milipitas- San Jose they would do best..maybe grow in ground and flower at a decent time-lol.

In Hayward I used to get mine to bloom in June. Also, in Mission San Jose they always bloomed in June, then heavy bloom in July, August and sporadic bloom in November and December sometimes. Once year my Celadine bloomed at Christmast and into January (it was outside under the eave, south-side of the house). I can't remember the year it was a warm winter.

The best I got out of what I have is late July. That was last years soucal like summer and winter.
Never in June.
I would hate to learn that all the Plummys will do that. At least putting then close together makes a nice look.

The last two years some of the plumeria trees were flowering in February here in San Diego. My plants start putting out the buds in March and start to bloom as early as mid-April. I did have Plumeria 'Celadine' bloom in the Bay Are as early as May...it was on previous year's flower spikes. Celadine, Samoan Fluff and some other varieties will keep their flower spikes for two years.

I have some incredible photos of Slaughter Pink Plumeria at the San Diego Zoo last week. I need to get the pics off my iPhone.
