This is a nice flowering small tree or large shrub. It's flowers in summer and fall. Photo taken Aug. 11, 2016.

I know! I had one in the SF Bay Area for years and it was beautiful; however, even in Mission San Jose, it didn't bloom very well.

Actually,if it was in THE San Jose it might be best. I never need to be around the very south bay..but I here story's of huge Mangoes, sweet tropical Guava's. Makes me wonder what exotic plant growers have going down there.
Hey I did see one nice Starfruit looking good down there in a post.

I think it was planted in a bad spot. It kept on being attacked by gophers.
There was a motel by The University of Santa Clara that used to have several Starfruit trees planted in front of it. Not sure if they're still there. I haven't been there in a long time. There's definitely more tropicals growing in the SF Bay Area than ever before.
