Sweet Bell Peppers

I put one in a 5 gallon pot- its been very productive. I pick them green. Maybe now wait until they turn red?

Being we have tepid summers I was told bellpeppers don't do much in ground. So,I guess the black pot helps.

I don't know why they wouldn't do well for you in the ground. They love hot weather and don't mind the occasional dry spell.

Its not hot here. Maybe 74-80f is the typical summer day.
Its why tropical's need time to establish. These Peppers Paul are by far the best I've even done. Other tries? When they were stunted in ground..I just yanked them out. This year I knew I wanted to try a large pot..not keep potting it up either, but a bucket sized 5 gallon right off the bat.

I'm glad your peppers were productive for you. This is the first year I've grown peppers and all 4 plants are loaded with no problems at all. I'm looking forward to making stuffed peppers. They freeze well too. That's a bonus.

The wife told me stop picking them green. But,I'm not sure they will ever turn red.
I wonder what happens when a green type is forced to be red?

These can be picked/eaten either green or red, or somewhere in between. Be careful not to let them over ripe - they go mushy real fast.
