This is on a slope in the driest position imaginable the soil has been eroded so that almost all the tuber is on the surface but somehow it survives

Lovely to see so many beautiful flowers from just one corm! :-))
I was thinking of growing Cyclamen on our balcony this winter. The last 4 or 5 years I've had terrible results from Pansies & Violas! :-(( It's the only plant that occurs to me I could use in the pots of spring flowering bulbs on the balcony railings.
I'd need at least a dozen corms as I have 13 pots of Begonias growing on the balcony railings at present.

Balcony
The ones you can buy from B&Q and the likes are much cheaper bought in trays of 6 I have used them potting them on to establish for use in the house.works quite well, outside it depends on the winter and how severe it is,They are derived from Cyclamen Persicum which is borderline hardy,so no gaurantees most originate in north Africa up to Tukey they need to be planted so that the top of the corm is above the compost level otherwise if leaves are buried they will invariably rot,
Best of luck

Thanks, Brian! I had thought of some place like that as well. Thanks also for the advice on planting them, if I can find some I'll make sure the corms are above the soil in the pots.

you will not have any problem finding them they will be available in there hundreds of thousands in the next few weeks.

Just today we went to a town just 5 miles away where they have an extra big street market on bank holidays. There we saw Cyclamen on sale at 3 x £5. I didn't buy any, I've nowhere to put them at the moment but perhaps in a month's time, if I don't find any offer similar here, we'll go back & see if the market still has any.
