OK this sounds stupid, but what's non variegated mean?

Those are the leaves that are entirely green with no patterning. Not stupid a stupid question at all.

Hi Lillyb, I have a large one of these (came with the house) and the prior owner warned that you need to prune any non-variegated foliage or the whole plant will lose it's variegation. It is one of my favourites, you will love it in bloom.
