Very nice! I, too, have one that is similar! Why is it that there are so many hybrid varieties of Fuchsia that look so much the same?

Somebody ought to be able to control the release of new hybrids so that only distinct, new varieties get released into the public domain.

I wonder if the Fuchsia Society could "police" new introductions? After all they have a great many experts who are probably professional breeders/growers.

yes I agree Balcony. the same is true with geraniums, penstemons and hemerocallis.
to me many are so slightly different as to not be that different.

There should be a sort of "governing body" that breeders & growers should have to adhere to in order to introduce & sell new varieties of plants. So many are practically identical & offer no improvement on existing varieties that they are a waste of time & effort.

New introductions should have to be vetted before approval is given for them to enter the general market to make sure they are sufficiently different & offer an improvement on existing varieties whether that be in size of bloom/foliage/disease resistance or longevity or whatever. But an improvement should be shown before being allowed to be introduced.

End of rant ...

... for now!
