Cimicifuga 'Pink Spice' for my file

Also have C. simplex 'Brunette' which has never produced any of its white flowers yet.

I have this in the pot on the deck (I think) for few years now and it blooms every year. I did not know that it calls Cimicifuga . I call it Purple Snakeroot. Striking plant. Love it.

Yes Klahanie, Snakeroot, lovely plant. It is supposed to have properties to ward off bugs, don't know about snakes though!

Good luck with that Siris....been growing them for years and they have never, ever flowered!! Was discussing them with Rosie Hardy on Instagram the other day!

Did she say why they are shy to flower?

I think, in the conservatory border, might fulfill those criteria. That is where I have put Pink Spice, a good size plant when bought last weekend. Brunette came mail order last year, so much smaller.

Scented as well, Simbad, tell us the situation where yours is placed please. Not that there is any other place in my garden that comes 1/2 way to suiting.

Mines beside the pond Siris in an area that was supposed to be boggy dug out the soil and put pond liner in the bottom with holes punched in it , it did have a tree overhanging it till last year when the tree died and it never did very well, now the sites more open and it gets more rain its doing brilliant , wouldn't say the soils boggy though just dampish, I'll take a picture tomorrow, the scent really is gorgeous and you can smell it from quite a distance!

Yes please show. I can excuse Brunette, she was only small, mail order last Autumn, grown quite nicely, and Pink Spice only just acquired. Both in shade caste by buildings some time during the day.
