Planted spring 2016

Yea not a plant to show off just yet! It was for my file and to see how much growth it had put on this one season. But I can't wait to see how it'll shape up, still doing research into pruning first year, as usual... conflicting advice!

I planted mine in 2012 and have pruned it down to about a foot each Spring. It's currently about 7ft. tall with lovely dark berries on.

Its lovely Resi....always worth showing off...someone looking on here might never have seen it before. :)

Thanks Shirley, i think that's what I'll be doing.
Yes you're probably Karen, it just looks rather leggy and lanky still but seriously healthy. Hopefully it'll shade my chicken run 'to be' in future summers!

Oh, it will, and what a lovely way to hide it too!

I think it has pink flowers.

Yes it has, I'll just just have to be a little bit careful with the roses to be planted close by as the pink of the sambucus flowers isn't exactly subtle!
