Pelargonium 'Vancouver Centennial' looking nowhere near as good or as red as Hywel's. (Maybe the lighter colour is the reason why I don't mind the red flowers).

It looks fine to me. Mine has been outside for a long time. Maybe that's made the colour stronger. That doesn't mean it's better. It's just different.

Pretty leaf, but I prefer Heuchera.

Mine was thriving..then became a favorite place for the cats to lounge. So,back into a pot it will go. It did struggle with wet soils in winter anyways.

Do you think, Stan, that the cat liked the odour, rather like they do catnip? Personally I think Pelagonium have an awful smell to the leaves except the lemon scented ones.

Ah,I hadn't thought of that. It would be a good answer as to why with all the room in the world a cat would pick that spot.

Thorneyside, I have several plants and the ones in the shade have this colour...more green and you are right the flowers look less awkward with this coloration but the ones in full sun have the deep maroon colour like Hywel's with a little chartreuse green colour around the edges ....very striking. Is yours in partly shade?
