Yes, given a sunny position and a soil that doesn't get too wet, they will thrive. I planted three bulbs a few years ago, and now there are almost 20 flowers. The leaves appear in the spring and are quite large and floppy, so don't plant them beside anything delicate. These die away, then nothing happens until the flowers suddenly appear in the autumn.
