I don't know much about gardening but do know these are poisonous. A friend of mine had just got married and his new french wife loved to pick flowers from the garden and put all over the house. I went over one day and we went into the kitchen and there, just going to seed was a vase full of foxgloves next to her food prep area. She didn't know that, I believe, that they are used to lower the heart rate and can kill you.

Good you told her Jen, I heard that some people would confuse it for comfrey in this young stage and make a comfrey tea which could be deadly as the leaves are very poisonous.

They are lovely though & the bees like them too. They pop up here & there in my garden too.
I also have Bryony which grows in the hedge, Laburnum & Yew, all are poisonous & I'm sure there are many more.

You are absolutely right Green finger. Many plants are poisonous to some extent.
Some very popular like lupines, lobelias, irises, hellebores, spurge, dicentra, delphiniums, Lily-of-the-Valley, columbines, lilies, morning glories, Italian Arum(I just bought) they are all poisonous and even my beloved rhododendrons and hydrangeas , These plants are also the ones deer will not usually eat.

Our gardens would look so bare without them though, best policy is not to eat any of them, lol.
