In the clearing out of my boarders I found a climbing rose that was in a dreadful state. Full of black spot and growing all through the shrubs and trees in front of it. Having pruned shrubs I then pruned this rose right back (at the wrong time of year) and crossed fingers. Its now come into flower so now just hope it's ok over winter.

Lol, I have no idea what rose it is, planted by previous owners and by the state of it years ago. Had a few blooms on it that we just about saw in sping but everything was very overgrown around it that we couldn't get to it.

Thanks Karen, it's made it through the winter! Was worried as did cut it late last year. It's got some nice growth on it so fingers and toes crossed I get some nice blooms this year.

I'm sure you will :) Roses seem to like a good prune.
