Last Mango tree flush of the year. (Mangifera indica (Mango))

I love this plant. I practically count every new leaf-lol. This last flush puts the tree at the 8' mark. Looking more like a Mango tree everyday.

Will it ever bear fruit in your climate, Stan? I'm assuming yes.

It has Paul. Last year and the year before. But,it took so much from the little tree..it hardly grew last year- this year,it never flowered but the growth has been phenomenal. From 5'+ to just touching 8' right about now.
Four years ago it was a 2' stick. I have fertilized and watered regularly. This is one plant I didn't want anymore setbacks.

Oh, it's rested this year so with the new growth it should produce lots of fruit next year, with a bit good fortune!

Stan:

Wow! Your mango tree looks great!

The mango trees here are flushing growth, also. Especially with the extremely hot weather we've had the last week.
The last three years and this year in particular has been bumper crops for mangoes. It's of course, due to the very hot and dry winters here in San Diego. I just hope we get some real rain this year!

It looks like dry soucal is getting drier not that the bay area is getting any wetter Andy. Los Angeles usually has Hayward-Fremont totals historically. It just looks like the tap was shut off in soucal.
The PacNorthWest is wetter again. As if the rains that should be partialed out to soucal is going to Seattle.
Ocean currents?

San Diego in particular is getting much drier. If it's dry and warm it's one thing; however, it's been so hot in winter it feels sometimes like the middle of summer, especially the last 5 years. Of course, the nights are cooler, but even the last 3 years several of the nights have been sometimes warmer than in summer. That's very unusual.
