Thanks Klahanie. Its towering at 8 feet tall now."Towering" by bay area standards. If not for a freeze in 2012,I would estimate this as being at least 12-16' tall by now. It had to really come back from a 2' stick trunk and a handful of leafs on the trunk.
Its a fun thing. They don't grow nearly as fast as Temperate fruits do. I think by the time 5 years goes by,Plums or Apricots will be producing all you can eat.

It really looks terrific!
12' to 16' tall and spreading is a really good size for a home-grown mango tree. It's easier to pick the mangoes.

I'm seeing some nice ones in soucal on google Andy. I saw two in Newport beach- one block from the ocean. One was like mine about 10' and narrow..the other was a bit taller but just as round.. tiny fruit on it in May.

Mango trees are very commonly sold at nurseries here in Southern California. There's many here in San Diego. I need to find the huge mango tree I discovered when I took a wrong turn off back in early spring. The tree must have been 50' tall. It had a gigantic spread, also. It was loaded with flower spikes back in late February or early March. I can imagine how many mangoes it had on it this past season.
