STILL flowering (it hasn't stopped) and not so little. I have yards of the stuff!

No, they should be hardy, although a position at the foot of a south facing wall is good insurance in colder areas. Good drainage in the winter is also essential, and don't plant too deep - the 'traditional' advice is to have the top of the bulbs at, or just above, soil level.

Andrew, do you think at the base of a south facing wall, they can be too dry? My one last year, flowered in that situation, but this year no green growth although the bulbs are still firm.

Sue - I have some planted in this sort of position under a large hibiscus. They have been there for several years and are just coming into flower as well. They have never seemed to have been affected by any lack of moisture.

But what about the lack of leaves, Andrew? Am I just being impatient, the leaves should grow before the flowers.

HB well worth the effort, large clumps are a picture.......they do take time to bulk up though.

mine flowered for the first time in 4 years. I don't plant tall things in front of them now so they get a good baking.

they do put on a lovely show.
