Painted Lady

Brilliant photo and so nice to see one ,we've had very few this year ...

They really make the garden come alive.

They always seem to have closed their wings, when I start to photograph, so well captured.

lol they do that for me too. I just keep clicking and clicking and maybe out of 25 shots, 1 or 2 will have the wings open.

Ah, so that's the secret, Bathgate. I had to do that to get a Bluetit exiting a nest box.
