This year's tree is a 94 foot Norway Spruce donated by a couple 140 miles away in Oneonta New York, from their back yard. It weighs 14 tons, is covered by 50,000 LED lights on 5 miles of wire. It's topped by a 9.5 foot Swarovski star. After the holidays, it goes through a wood chipper to make mulch for the city parks.

Aren't LED lights wonderful? I've discovered LED tea-lights this year: they flicker realistically, and are so safe, lol!

Well the owners wanted to get rid of it anyway, but in a way, it will be "reincarnated."
