86!! of my goodness that's hot!

Yes, it was hot yesterday and the last 3 days. Today it will be cooler with showers which we need so badly. We don't need the hot weather. We've had too much hot weather in winter over the last several years without rain, which has caused the severe drought.

It rained yesterday morning and all night. We have more rain coming in tonight. YAY!!! We need every drop. It's actually getting really wet here. First time in years!

With the car heater on I got to about 75f in their. Otherwise- low 60's is it.
Things as you know are fluxing Andy..now,my low has been changed from Armageddon to one 39f morn and rains.
I hope it stays this way. Just think,I almost bought expensive frost cloth and lots of it. It would have been another return to HD trip..
See? This is why I fought so hard to make sure my plants survived the summer. We are having a rainy year.

It's good to have frost cloth up there. Fortunately, you don't have to use it much; however, when you need it, it's a plant-saver!

It's gotten cooler since last Thursday's really hot weather. It's been raining for the last couple of days. It's getting pretty wet. This plant I moved into a drier spot outside. I don't want my Adeniums to get water-logged! They got pretty wet in the last rains; however, dried out quickly with last week's hot weather. This week is looking pretty wet...low-to-mid 60's for high and lows in the upper 40's to mid-50's is what forecasted for this coming week. I'll see what happens.

Its changed on a dime Andy..from frigid low of 27f and high of 46f -predicted- to 6-8" of rain in seven days. I don't believe that either. 2" would be a lot of rains in a week.
I see if I prune off a leaf here,and a leaf there..I have the 10b winter look. I think- even the wife noticed- that Firesticks seems to have kept growing in winter. Its now one of her favorite plants. She usually doesn't say much about plants that aren't edible or flower.

It sure has changed on a dime! I do see that huge plume of moisture sitting out in the Pacific Ocean heading our way. It looks like we're going to get a lot of rain, also. This is what was forecasted for last year's huge El Nino. LOL!

Euphorbia 'Firesticks' is quite a plant. I do see a lot of them here, though. It's very common in my neighborhood. I gave mine away last year.

I know,I see them everywhere in soucal...esp. San Diego.
Here? You will never see one outdoors. Not one. Unless its in front of my home.
They look good combined with blue Kalanchoe's.

Yes, E. tirucalli is extremely common here because it loves dry conditions! I tried growing them in the Bay Area many times, they always died. It's funny, now I can't get rid of my large one. It grows so extremely fast and I want to cut it down.

Very beautiful plant.
I bought one the last spring and it was blooming, but from day to night it shrinked and died :(

It's a desert plant which likes it very dry and hot. Most people water them too much which tends to cause rot to the roots. This kills them very quickly.

Thank you for the comment, it might be what happened.
The housekeeper might watered it too much.
She uses to water the plants after clean the balcony.

Yes, too much water will always kill them. Twice a month in hot weather is sufficient. Younger plants will need a little bit more water. Winter they want no water. Their caudex stores a lot of water.
