Chasmanthe floribunda

Chasmanthe floribunda (Chasmanthe floribunda)

I love the fresh green of these leaves. It is such a different shade of green.

I've not met one of these before SBG but anything that's started to grow is lovely. When do they flower?

May time and they are a bit like a crocosmia, yellowy/orangey flowers.

Will you try some of these in a border outside?

I think I will but they will have to go in a sheltered spot. the corms are about 2" in diameter. Not really sure where though :o)

I am glad I didn't put my Watsonia bulbs from Madeira outside, I don't they would have survived the frosts, but now they have increased inside from 2 corms to 6 I will experiment putting 2 corms in a sheltered spot against the bungalow to overwinter next year. Belt and braces!
