I love these but have never had any. Certainly not space or a suitable position in my very small current garden.

but they die back and go underground so they are out of sight so the other plants come through after.

It's not so much that, really, DD and SBG......I'm thinking the situation they would need, ie shady, under trees etc (which is where you normally see them) and I don't have space for trees.

any shrubs or just the shady corner of the garden would work for it. My brother has them in a shady corner and he has no trees nor shrubs in his garden. To be honest they are early flowerers because they are usually shaded out by foliage later in the year. they wont know there aren't any trees ;o) After all people grow bluebells in the open.
