Wow,that's early! A very cheering sight. No sign of flowers on ours yet.

I really like pulmonarias. This is a pretty one.

Stera - that's what I thought Stera. It's supposed to coincide with 'Blue Ensign' and 'Sissinghurst White' and there's no sign of either of them yet.

I like Pulmonarias for their earlyness, but find here later they become covered in mildew.

Do you then cut the leaves off to get fresh foliage?

that's a pretty shade of blue and apart from rubra non are flowering yet.

Andrew, I cut off the dead brown leaves at this time of year, but have never cut off all the over wintered leaves.
I think the mildew appears at the same time as the fresh leaves appear (same time as fresh leaves on my Apples start getting mildew). The silver leaved Pulmonarias never suffer. I am gradually reducing to just this variety.
Any suggestions, Andrew?

Sue - a quick Google search on "pulmonaria mildew resistant" brought up there varieties:
'Apple Frost', 'Bubble Gum', 'Margery Fish', 'Milky Way', and 'Silver Bouquet.' Another good one with silver leaves is 'Blake's Silver' which I grow, and I've never noticed any mildew on it.

There is also more information on mildew at:

Perhaps they get mildew when they are too dry. No sign of it here but when we lived with drier soil it was a real pain.

Thank you Andrew, for researching those mildew resistant varieties.
Steragram, I think you are right about dry conditions. I will see this year, after the winter's rains.
