Sarcococca.

Sarcococca. (Sarococca hookeriana Humilis)

I had searched all over for this, I knew I had it on the garage roof last year but couldn't remember where I'd put it when I emptied the planter that was infested with weavils. The roots had been badly affected and I was unsure if it would survive. After washing the roots and plant clear of soil and grubs I repotted it in a small pot. Well, I found it yesterday tucked away behind the greenhouse, looking good. :o)

It does look good Homebird. I had quite a big Sarcococca ruscifolium which for some reason decided to give up the ghost last year. Just went brown and died back from the top down. No sign of anything in the roots but that means nothing. Luckily I had a couple of cuttings from it, only about a foot high but healthy enough at the moment. Mine has white flowers, yours seem to be red. Very nice.

How useful to have an accessible flat garage roof. Hope your roof garden is sheltered from gales.
