Taken as a seedling growing around our rented holiday home in France a few years ago!!

Thanks, we are very pleased to see it survive a winter, as we have no idea just how hardy it is!!

Sandra still cannot believe it, less than three inches tall, travelled with us over three days in the car, then the ferry and now it's over eight ft tall!!

I'm pretty sure it's Acacia baileyana. It grows by the hundreds of thousands in many areas here in California. They typically start blooming in early to mid-January. It's considered a weed tree especially in the San Francisco Bay Area.
