Obviously that's the way to grow them then Andrew?, will have to allocate an alpine sink, how deep should they be, Barbara said on (FB) deep?, our sinks might be too shallow, and that's where the majority of ours our planted.......never to be seen again!!

Broadleigh Bulbs suggests eight inches deep. Any shallower than two inches, and the bulbs split into small bulblets that take a few years to build up enough strength to flower again. Mine are probably about six inches down.

Thanks, our sinks might just have enough depth, will pop out tomorrow with my tape measure!

If your weather is anything like ours, your husband may get worried if you say: "I'm just going outside to measure the depth of our sinks. I may be some time." :-)

lol!! and yes our weather is the same as yours unfortunately, cold, cold wind today!

It's been quite pleasant here in Bracknell this afternoon. Managed three and a half hours working in the garden before the light faded.
