Not evergreen? Leaves appearing late winter, smaller leaves than a Bergenia? Apparently quite a rampant spreader.

some of the older leaves remain in the sheltered spot and less smaller leaves and not as leathery either. so far it is behaving and where it is I wont mind if it moves through/about a bit.
