Not exactly disillusioned Brian, it's just that daphnes seem to last about ten years here and then go into a terminal decline.

Andrew I think most people would consider ten years a reasonable life span for a lot of shrubs let alone Daphne's
I must admit I know of a couple of Daphne's that are probably about 25/30 years old but they are the exception

Love these but know there is no way I will ever succeed outside with them.
While your next photo Of Daphne Blagyana which you sound a little disillusioned with is a real good doer for me stays reasonably compact and covers itself with flowers.
