Walking into a brick wall can be painful - I suggest wearing shin and elbow pads, a crash hat and steel-toed shoes. Sorry - that was meant to be funny! When you have your new patio, is there any chance of incorporating a double wall so that you can grow lovely trailing plants in it? Then of course you will want lots of containers on the paving to brighten it all up! Sounds great!

There Are So Many Possibilities..
On The Left Is My Mothers Tree, Unfortunatley She Died A Few Years Back And This Is Her Tree, So I Cannot Remove it. I Will Have To Have A Supporting Wall Built Around It To Support It, I Have Plenty Of Room At The Top Of the Garden For Plants, At The Moment The Plan Is To Remove The Ivy From The Garage To The Left Of The Tree And Plant Some Clematis In It's Place. ( I Sound Like A Gardener Already),
And Add Something To The Ivy On The Right Next To The Path.
The Wall Sounds Like A Good Idea, Something To Consider
I Have Had Various Suggestions For Plants , Some Have Been Put In Already So Will Have To Update My First Plants...

Well , you have a fantastic area to work with , that's for sure. Love the tiered sections, hope you plan of keeping it that way , really adds interest and depth to your landscape. Can't wait to see your progress. Good luck, and have fun....!

Was this area of your yard a garden when you were a child? Got any pics of this area from back then?

Hi Judi.
It;s amazing as a kid my dad always did slide shows with embarssing photo;s of me and my sisters, but cannot remember any photos/slides of the garden, the back garden used to be 2 slopes of grass, and there was a shed where the old pond is now, the shed got demolished in 1987 when we had a big storm, over the years my dad has changed the garden of easy maintenance, im not green fingered, but i think i've got the bug...
if i find any old photo's i will upload them

Unfortunatley I Am Not Green fingered, Gradually Getting Round To "The Garden Makeover".
My Intention Is To Take The Lover Level Patio Away Leaving A Large Space For A New Patio , So When You Walk Out Of The Conservatory You Don't Walk Into A Brick Wall.
Any Suggestions Welcome...
