Hellebore

As soon as I saw this, I thought of those insect eating bog plants they show at Chelsea. The shape of the flower reminds me of them. Its very beautiful.

It is gorgeous , they are very difficult to photograph, you did a good job of it Brian !

one of my better bits of planting ,it is on a bank so you only have to bend a little to see it well

I only have two Hellebore plants, one of them cream and the other a purple colour, but both have done well this year with flowers. I chopped them right back last summer.

I wondered why only two as they seed freely here ,but thinking about it the two may not get pollinated.
