Thanks all , Gg I always think of it as an Orchid -look-alike , side by side you would hardly know the difference until they bloomed ...

Beautiful,I planted one last year, but no sign, it would help if I could remember where I planted it lol!!

Ah yes, Gg, Ive heard of that but never seen one.

DD, I'm so glad someone else plants things then when they die back can't remember where they are lol! I should take a leaf out of Cottagekaren's book and take more photos.

Thanks Waddy very interesting I didn't know that ,mine must be in just the right place /position the plants seems to do well I've had them for a long time ,I also have other plants near it the yellow Erythronium Pagoda which also do well they have spread out into lovely patches ,they're not in flower yet , I have them in gravel mostly in the shade ... x

Amy your E. dens canis had me despairing again. I have tried to grow this several times with no luck. I too have Pagoda and it is very happy. I bought a new one last year, E. 'White Beauty', at the Welsh AGS show and it is happy and growing away well. Thank you Waddy for cheering me up but did they let you in on the secret of success?

Oh Lori what a shame ,your winters go on for ever and ever , lets hope you have a lovely long summer to make up for it ....

24 Mar, 2017

Hello Amy... loving your pics. It seems every year, since moving here, the winters have become strange...each one, so far, different. snow is melting but very slowly. trees are covered with a coat of ice... temps are signalling sap season. I'm sure our little DogTeeth are chomping at the bit. will send you a pic of the hillside white with trilliums, erythroniums (yellow) and white and pink striped mayflowers (claytonia) and pinkish white hepaticas. and a bit later the English Blue Bells! ...I sure hope it's soon.

My favourite Erythronium!

Oh Lori ,I can't believe this is happening to you its so unfair, the weather forecaster tells us its going to be very hot here this weekend , we have a spring flower show tomorrow mainly for Daffodils but they bloomed so early this year its hard to find a few decent ones to enter ...
