Pleione

By Meanie

Pleione (pleione formosana)

They were outdoors all winter in a spot that has overhead protection. Kept dry like this they easily handled the regular minus 5 or 6°c that the garden saw.

That's good to know they are so pretty ...

Of dear, mine got quite wet overwinter, no sign of growth.

Lost ours many moons ago.......well done on keeping them going....

Amy - you don't have any? I'm disappointed in you!

Siris - the pseudobulbs are monocarpic so any growth will be at the base of last years pseudobulbs.

DD - I've lost so many over the years. Virtually all my stock last winter (2015/16).

Oh that's a shame....

Think I will have a dig where mine should be.

5 Apr, 2017

Siris - it shouldn't be necessary to dig as they should be on the surface.

Actually Meanie, I am confused, my orchid is a Bletilla.

That makes sense Siris! Mine has yet to emerge as well.

Thank you Meanie, now I can sleep better, until the Bletilla emerges. I will enjoy the wonderful colour on your Pleione till then.
