Thanks Waddy and DD. We have some greenfly on the tree but we are reluctant to spray as the Bluetits are feeding on them as well.

That explains the ant and ladybird. Keep letting nature do the job of getting rid of the greenfly, if you can. :)

We try not to spray the garden and also have jam jars with beer in sunk into the ground to trap slugs. The pellets harm the wildlife, by the slugs ingesting the substance the pellets contain, and then the animals and birds digesting the slugs.
