Have to agree a odd colour I have even looked at parents/grand parents most are pastel in colour and none that I have found have red as what you have produced.
Whats your thoughts Wylie ?

I have a seedling, Yabba Dabba Doo x Willow. Both are dark, but produced this one that is a hint of pink self with a darker pink eye. I then crossed it with Crystal Blue Persuasion, and it was more like Yabba Dabba Doo. I am also finding that Golden Tentacles is another that will give unexpected results (see the one I posted yesterday: Emozione x Golden Tentacles). It can be difficult to tell what happened when the grandparents are listed as sdlg, as traits often skip a generation.

yes , Watchyl Lavender Blue parents are , sdlg × Kindly Light) × Cerulean Star)
Interesting to look into ..
With race horses its all ways the brood mare side they class as true which when you think about it makes good sense.

But Blue Oasis is (Mystic Mariner x sdlg), so with unknowns on both sides, it is impossible to say where the red came from.

I was thinking of crossing Watchyl Lavender Blue with Space Coast Dragon Dreams if they both flower, and at the same time, just for a 'play', but I don't think I will bother now.

Hi Siris
You can freeze the pollen to use at a later date

You can collect the pollen, but harvest it in the late morning. Let it dry for 2 hours, then remove the fleshy stem. Seal in a plastic bag and freeze. When you go to use it, let it thaw for 30 mins, then use tweezers to dab on the pollen. It can't be refrozen. If it is going to be only overnight because it looks like the other flower is going to open, put it in the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature before use.

Thank you for that information, Gg and Wylie, but probably won't do, it was just a whim for a lilac flower.

I imagined this would be a blue/lilac offspring not red.
