Thanks both , only small when I bought the ferns but some grow well over 24 inches now.
Thrupenny its a odd corner very little sun shine soil is awful, and so easy to look after I dump all the autumn leaves in that corner and thats about that ...

I have a fern corner, with all of three ferns, a Harts Tongue, probably the one in this photo and an Athyrium.

A good mulch for them then when the leaves rot down the leaves protect the earth to it moistens it over winter.

Yes the leaves mimic a woodland floor which they thrive in.

? There are lots of Ferns growing in a shaded area by a river that flows under the Coventry canal next to me it has a very steep slope down to it but tgere are wooden steps to get down by the river Sowe
