Space Age means it has an extension to the beard. Falls start blue but change to white on opening. Bought 2 years ago. This is the Iris from which I knocked off the flower head last year. Survived this year to put up two stems, but I have damaged its neighbour.

I went Space Age with my purchases two years ago. Could have cried when I damaged Anaconda Love, which had only just reached flowering size after about 5 years.

It and Anaconda Love are in precarious positions, very close to a stepping stone. The only good thing about knocking off the flower head is it put all its energy into developing another strong rhizome this year.

What else?
See who else is growing Iris germanica (Orris).
See who else has plants in genus Iris.

I like those 'detached' beards...very unusual and they look even more like little creatures like that. I'm glad you didn't decapitiate it this year.
