This first bloomed in 2013, but since then, it has become a softer red. There are 2 flowers, one is hiding behind the other.

Thanks. It really brightens up the area it is in.
On the 8th, the AHS published the official 2016 list, so my 'Pico Piquinho' is now an official named variety. Next year should see its first offspring as I made several crosses with it.

I had it rough this morning. It rained during the night, and then when I went out to do some crosses, just about all the pollen was wet. I managed to find a dry one, but before I could do anything, a shower came along. After it stopped, I went out with the dry pollen, and a paper towel to dry the stigma and pistils off, dab some pollen, and put a foil cap on it. Then it started raining again, and a repeat afterwards. It finally got to 11 AM, so I stopped and hope for a drier morning tomorrow.
You should get something interesting off your seedlings. I am finding Lines of Splendor, that I got from Simbad, is making an interesting pollen parent. I also have been using Tomorrow's Song a lot.

She is a grandmother now, so probably very busy. Especially if her daughter works. My sister is planning on retiring in the next couple of years, and to keep busy, she will be moving close to her grandkids and take care of their kids during the day.
